Volleyball Game Preview: Waynesville Spartans vs. Valley View Spartans + How To Watch

Waynesville will take on Valley View at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Waynesville has four straight wins, Valley View has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Waynesville won the last time they faced Madison and Katilyn Hanshaw did her part to make sure it happened again. The Spartans put the hurt on the Mohawks with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday with plenty of help from Hanshaw, who had 14 assists and 13 aces. Hanshaw is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 13 every time she's taken the court this season.

One reason for the win was Waynesville's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-15, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Valley View lost 3-0 to Oakwood on Tuesday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-15, 25-11.

Waynesville's win bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Valley View, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's matchup: Waynesville has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 11.3 aces per game. However, it's not like Valley View struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
