Baseball Recap: Altamont Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home + How To Watch

Altamont won the last time they faced Green River and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Longhorns were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Pirates. The Longhorns might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Levi Scott and Colt Duncan were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Scott tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Duncan pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Scott posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. At bat, Scott went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Duncan got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Keaton Huff, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

Altamont pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.9 runs over those games. As for Green River, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Altamont will challenge Bryce Valley at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Green River, they will face off against Panguitch at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bobcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Pirates' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
