Recap: Martin Tigers vs. Southside Cardinals
It was a good run, but The Martin Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They lost to Southside on the road by a decisive 36-17 margin. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Martin in their matchups with Southside: they've now lost four in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Martin lost, one person who can't be blamed is Christopher Dillard. Despite the final result, he rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown.
It was another big night for Reuben Alaniz, who rushed for 155 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.
Martin's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Southside, their victory was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-1.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Winn the next time they take the field. Martin will host Winn at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Southside will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
