Softball Recap: Fisher Comes Up Short

If Fisher was riding high fresh off their 18-3 takedown of L.W. Higgins last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Fisher Gators fell 11-6 to Haynes Academy on Thursday. The Gators were not able to make up for their defeat to Haynes Academy from their previous meeting back in March of 2019.

Fisher saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Talyn Feicht, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave Feicht a new career-high in hits. Jessie Schutt was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Fisher's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Haynes Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Fisher will square off against Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Haynes Academy, they will challenge Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
