The Syracuse Titans will head out on the road to challenge the Woods Cross Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Syracuse will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Saturday, then bounced right back against West Field on Tuesday. Everything went Syracuse's way against West Field as Syracuse made off with a 21-5 win. The Titans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Calder Millard was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with four RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Frankie Harris was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Burkon Beus also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.
Syracuse always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Woods Cross was able to grind out a solid victory over Skyline on Tuesday, taking the game 8-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.
Coleman Burbidge tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk).
At the plate, Alex Razee was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Max Moffat was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Woods Cross pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Syracuse, they moved to 1-4 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak.
Everything went Syracuse's way against Woods Cross in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Syracuse made off with a 10-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Syracuse since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
