 Floyd Central is 2-7 against Belfry since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Tuesday. The Floyd Central Jaguars are on the road again  to play the Belfry Pirates at 6:00  p.m.
 On Monday, Floyd Central didn't have quite enough to beat Shelby Valley and fell  3-2.
  Jace Martin was cooking despite his team's loss,   getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances with two  stolen bases and a  double. Another player making a difference was  Greyson Akers, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 Meanwhile, Belfry sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  4-2  win over Scott  on Monday. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for Belfry.
  Jonah Adkins made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing  an inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Adkins has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. Adkins was even better at the plate,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with a  home run and two  RBI.
 Adkins wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Eli Caudill, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.  Dante Davis was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while  getting on base  in two of his four plate appearances.
 Floyd Central's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Belfry, their victory was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 11-9.
 Floyd Central suffered a grim  6-0 defeat to Belfry  in their previous matchup  back in May of 2023. Can Floyd Central avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
