Softball Game Preview: Wausau West Warriors vs. Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln Red Raiders

Wausau West hasn't had much luck against Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Warriors will welcome the Red Raiders at 4:30 p.m.

Wausau West is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Stevens Point on Tuesday. They fell 6-1 to the Panthers.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against Sun Prairie East on Saturday as they made off with a 14-2 win. The Red Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by 12 runs or more this season.

Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Wausau West, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Wausau West couldn't quite finish off Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
