Softball Recap: Cypress Falls Takes a Loss

Cypress Falls came into this matchup off a tough ten-run loss on Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Klein Bearkats by a score of 4-2 on Friday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Bearkats recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Kirah Gonzalez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Jerzie Bay made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. Aubrey Leblanc was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Cypress Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Klein, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.

Cypress Falls wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 16-0 win against Cypress Park on the 28th. As for Klein, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-0 victory against Cypress Ranch on the 1st.
