Basketball Game Preview: Churchill Bulldogs vs. Clarksburg Coyotes

The Churchill Bulldogs and the Clarksburg Coyotes will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Churchill beat Walter Johnson 55-51.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clarksburg). They were the clear victor by a 74-50 margin over Gaithersburg on Tuesday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Coyotes with their most commanding win of the season.

Churchill's win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Clarksburg, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-16.

Churchill was able to grind out a solid win over Clarksburg when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 59-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for Churchill since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
