Basketball Game Preview: Northwest Webster Cougars vs. Webster City Lynx

After both having extra time off, the Northwest Webster Cougars and the Webster City Lynx will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Northwest Webster is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Newell-Fonda just ended the team's seven-game winning streak last Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 52-51 to the Mustangs. The game marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Webster City, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They walked away with a 54-47 win over Algona last Friday.

Webster City now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Northwest Webster, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Northwest Webster took a serious blow against Webster City when the teams last played back in January of 2020, falling 75-36. Can Northwest Webster avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
