Baseball Game Preview: New Plymouth Pilgrims vs. Nampa Christian Trojans

New Plymouth is 0-10 against Nampa Christian since April of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The Pilgrims will host the Trojans at 5:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

New Plymouth came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 18-11 to Marsing.

Waylon Evins was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. He has become a key player for New Plymouth: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-9 otherwise.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Nampa Christian). They never let Vision get on the board and left with a 12-0 win on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with Vision: they've now won five in a row.

New Plymouth's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Nampa Christian, their win bumped their record up to 13-4-1.
