Basketball Recap: New Madrid County Central Comes Up Short

New Madrid County Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 77-51 to the Graves County Eagles.

When it comes to explaining why New Madrid County Central lost, don't look at Ra'Mond Brooks. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 8 on his way to 17 points in addition to four blocks and three steals. Those 17 points gave Brooks a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Guest-Newsome, who posted 12 points.

New Madrid County Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Graves County, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

New Madrid County Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 43-39 loss against Jackson on the 9th. As for Graves County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-48 defeat against Calloway County on the 10th.
