You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Carmel's strategy against Saint Viator on Wednesday. The Carmel Corsairs enjoyed a cozy 43-28 victory over the Saint Viator Lions. The win was familiar territory for the Corsairs who have now won three matchups in a row.

Carmel is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-14 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Saint Viator, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-9.

Carmel and Saint Viator could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Carmel will take on Nazareth Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 5th down 130 places (136 vs. 6). Meanwhile, Saint Viator (ranked 120th) will meet Marian Catholic (ranked 31st) at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
