League recap: Seabury Hall tops St. Anthony to extend winning streak

Maui (8 Man) recap Oct. 16, 2012

Seabury Hall extended the longest winning streak in Maui (8 Man) this week by beating St. Anthony, 77-15. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Spartans.

Seabury Hall led the league in scoring this week after putting up 77 points on the Trojans.

Molokai's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Chelsen (Ena) Victorino threw for 107 and four touchdowns and Kaimana Kahale had 54 yards receiving. On the ground Noah Caparida chipped in 187 yards. Laureano Batara helped Molokai's passing attack out by catching one ball for 38 yards.

Molokai's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Farmers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Victorino has thrown for 116 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Kahale has seven catches for 134 yards. Caparida leads the league in rushing with 425 yards.

The marquee game in Maui (8 Man) this week will be the clash between the Farmers and the Spartans. Molokai comes into the matchup ranked second in the state, while Seabury Hall ranks first.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Mike Kahale's team takes on the Spartans. The Farmers have allowed 37 points this season, while Seabury Hall has given up 69. Molokai allowed 14 points last week as it beat Hana.
