Basketball Game Preview: Martin Falcons vs. Eagle Academy III Eagles

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Martin Falcons duke it out with the Eagle Academy III Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, Martin was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 80-74 to Far Rockaway.

Meanwhile, Eagle Academy III had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They escaped with a win against the Tigers by the margin of a single free throw, 68-67.

Eagle Academy III pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Martin, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.

Martin came up short against Eagle Academy III in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 82-72. Can Martin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
