Softball Recap: Fort Edward Comes Up Short

Fort Edward was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 9-4 to the Lake George Lakers. If the Flying Forts were looking for revenge after losing 19-4 to the Lakers when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Rue Quarters was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. Felicity Columbetti was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Fort Edward now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Lake George, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Looking ahead, Fort Edward will take on Granville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Flying Forts' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Horde have averaged an impressive 11.2 runs per game this season. Lake George does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
