Gridley had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the West Valley Eagles with a sharp 59-38 win on Wednesday. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Gridley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bikram Kullar, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Gus Stogsdill, who posted six points and 12 boards.

Despite the loss, West Valley still got an impressive performance from Zack Boemeke, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Boemeke now owns an excellent 45.3% field goal percentage. Taiton Brimhall was another key player, putting up four points and five boards.

Gridley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 19 of their last 20 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points over those games. West Valley's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-11.

Gridley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-34 defeat against University Prep on the 1st. As for West Valley, they have also already played their next contest, a 49-39 loss against Alhambra on the 4th.
