Basketball Game Preview: Bayside Marlins vs. Warhill Lions

The Bayside Marlins and the Warhill Lions will face off at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Bayside is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Bayside is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest defeat since February 9, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Tallwood by a score of 62-60.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Warhill, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 50-43 win over Tabb on Friday. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 159th, while the Tigers are ranked 329th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Warhill's win came from a few key players Bayside will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kristopher McDonough Ii, who posted 19 points. Another player making a difference was Hunter Brown, who scored 14 points.

Bayside's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Warhill, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
