Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Andrea Mata Alejo and Allison Gonzalez Lead Luis Valdez Leadership Academy to Victory

Luis Valdez Leadership Academy had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt ACE Charter on Thursday. The Lions blew past the Cheetahs 3-0. Winning may never get old, but the Lions sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Luis Valdez Leadership Academy not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept ACE Charter between 18 and 19 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-18, 25-19.

Leading Luis Valdez Leadership Academy to victory were Allison Gonzalez and Andrea Mata Alejo. Gonzalez had four aces, while Mata Alejo had four aces. What's more, Gonzalez posted two kills, the most she's had over her last five contests.

They weren't the only good servers: Luis Valdez Leadership Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in six consecutive matchups.

Luis Valdez Leadership Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for ACE Charter, their loss ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5.
