Recap: Hudson Cobras vs. Gulf Buccaneers

The Hudson Cobras were the 68-61 winner over the Gulf Buccaneers when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Hudson had to suffer through a rough 69-39 loss at the hands of Gulf.

When it comes to explaining why Hudson lost on Wednesday, one person who can't be blamed is Tejacion Chapman. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Chapman hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. Joshia Davis was another key contributor, scoring seven points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gulf to victory, but perhaps none more so than William Ruffin, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Domenech, who scored 15 points along with four steals.

Hudson has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Gulf, their victory bumped their record up to 7-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hudson and Crystal River will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Crystal River is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Gulf, they will be playing at home against Land O' Lakes at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
