Basketball Game Preview: Renaissance Knights vs. Martin Luther Cougars

The Renaissance Knights will be taking part in a tournament against the Martin Luther Cougars at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Renaissance easily dispatched Careers in Television & Film two weeks ago, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Renaissance fell just short of Queens School Of Inquiry by a score of 57-54 last Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with Queens School Of Inquiry: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Martin Luther was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 78-72 to Maspeth. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game two weeks ago (64), the Cougars still had to take the loss.

This is the second loss in a row for Martin Luther and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Renaissance, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 3-3.

Renaissance was taken down by Martin Luther 85-34 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Renaissance avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
