Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for River Valley

River Valley entered their tilt with Twelve Bridges on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Raging Rhinos. That's two games straight that the Falcons have won by just one run.

Payton Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, River Valley's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Apple Ward, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. Ainsley Holley was another, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

River Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March.

River Valley's record now sits at 13-8. As for Twelve Bridges, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
