Basketball Game Preview: Rickover Naval Seadragons vs. Chicago Academy Cougars + Official Tickets

Rickover Naval is 2-8 against Chicago Academy since November of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Seadragons will face off against the Cougars at 4:55 p.m.

Rickover Naval is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Roosevelt on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Seadragons were outmatched by the Rough Riders and fell 59-31. The Seadragons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-6.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chicago Academy). They blew past Marine Leadership Academy 51-17 on Tuesday. The Cougars not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since December 4, 2024 (when they won 59-13).

Rickover Naval's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Chicago Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Rickover Naval was dealt a bruising 59-13 loss at the hands of Chicago Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can the Seadragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
