The Lafayette Jefferson Bronchos will head out on the road to  challenge  the Western Boone Stars  at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Lafayette Jefferson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1  runs per game  this season.
On Saturday, Lafayette Jefferson got the win against Marion  by a conclusive  17-6. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Bronchos.
 Andi Mooney made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. Mooney was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in April.
 In other batting news,  Maya Thomas and  Evy Pitt did most of the damage at the plate:  Thomas  went 3-for-4 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and one  stolen base, while  Pitt  went 3-for-4 with one  home run, four  RBI,  and one  stolen base. That's the most  RBI  Thomas has posted  over her last 13  games.  Rilee Clifton was another key player,  going 2-for-5 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  stolen base.
 Lafayette Jefferson  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 16  hits. They are  a perfect 10-0 when  they post 11 or more  hits.
Meanwhile, Western Boone waltzed into their matchup  on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Mounties by a score of  12-8. That's two games straight that the Stars have won by  exactly four  runs.
 The team  relied heavily on  Kenzlei Mathews, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of  Mickayla Naanos, who  went 2-for-4 with one  home run and two  RBI.
 Western Boone pushed their record up to 18-5 with the  victory, which was their seventh straight  at home. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Lafayette Jefferson, their record now sits at 14-9.
Thursday's   contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lafayette Jefferson hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .364. However, it's not like Western Boone struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .369. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 Lafayette Jefferson suffered a grim  10-2 defeat to Western Boone  in their previous meeting  back in May of 2022. Can the Bronchos avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
