Softball Recap: Camden's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

While Camden didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with an 11-6 win over the Lancaster Bruins on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for the Bulldogs as they're now sitting on four straight.

Maddie Stokes made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off ten hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Camden got a massive performance out of Jayden Kennedy, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Kennedy also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Haydin Williams, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Camden hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five strikeouts batters in four consecutive games.

Camden's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Lancaster, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Lancaster will head out to challenge Buford at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Camden will be paying especially close attention to the Bruins' contest: after the Bruins faces off against the Yellow Jackets, they'll take on Camden again at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
