It's playoff time, and Huntington had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Franklin Lions on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for the Red Devils, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Brendan Fitzgerald spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Huntington's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Caden Carney, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Huntington pushed their record up to 27-6-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin, their loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 30-5-1.

Huntington will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lions: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
