Baseball Game Preview: Willits Wolverines vs. Calistoga Wildcats

The Willits Wolverines will venture away from home to take on the Calistoga Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Sonoma Academy hit Willits with a four-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wolverines took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coyotes. The Wolverines haven't had much luck with the Coyotes recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Corey Rocky put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only two earned runs while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Rocky was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Calistoga made easy work of Roseland Collegiate Prep on Tuesday and carried off a 14-2 victory. The matchup marked the Wildcats' most dominant win of the season.

Calistoga now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Willits, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9-1.
