Basketball Recap: Montrose Comes Up Short

Montrose was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 40-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Osceola Indians. The Blue Jays were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

It was another big night for Laney Uchtman, who went 8 of 20 en route to 19 points in addition to seven steals and six boards for Osceola. With that strong performance, Uchtman is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game.

Montrose's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Osceola, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.

Montrose will challenge Leeton at 6:00 a.m. on January 23rd. Osceola has already played their next game (against Chilhowee), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
