Preview: Tonopah Valley Phoenix vs. Odyssey Institute Minotaur
Tonopah Valley has enjoyed a five-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Odyssey Institute Minotaur at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Odyssey Institute took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Tonopah Valley, who comes in off a win.
Tonopah Valley posted their biggest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They blew past San Pasqual Valley, posting a 67-33 victory at home. The win was just what Tonopah Valley needed coming off of a 83-39 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Odyssey Institute's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their tenth straight loss. They were beaten by Kingman 72-43. Odyssey Institute has not had much luck with Kingman recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Tonopah Valley's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-13. As for Odyssey Institute, they dropped their record down to 3-13 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Tonopah Valley skirted past Odyssey Institute 55-53 when the teams last played on January 4th. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tonopah Valley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
