Recap: Rockwall-Heath Hawks vs. Grand Prairie Gophers
While it was all tied up 36-36 at halftime, the Rockwall-Heath Hawks were not quite the Grand Prairie Gophers's equal in the second half on Thursday. Rockwall-Heath took a 70-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Grand Prairie. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Rockwall-Heath came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Grand Prairie is ranked 387th).
Grayson Dorsey and Ryan Hampton certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Dorsey scored 22 points along with 6 rebounds, while Hampton scored 23 points along with 7 rebounds. Hampton scored a full 37.1% of Rockwall-Heath's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hadrian Reitsma, who scored 5 points along with 5 rebounds.
Rockwall-Heath's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Grand Prairie, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Rockwall-Heath will face off against Andress at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Grand Prairie's road trip will continue as they head out to face Red Oak at 3:00 p.m. on December 8th. Red Oak will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
