Preview: Wyoming Area Warriors vs. Lakeland Chiefs
The Wyoming Area Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Lakeland Chiefs at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday. Wyoming Area is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Thursday, Wyoming Area took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 81-29 victory over Lackawanna Trail. The win was just what Wyoming Area needed coming off of a 67-41 loss in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought match, but Lakeland had to settle for a 49-47 defeat against Honesdale on Thursday.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Chase Rosenkrans, who scored 14 points. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. Billy Hazelton was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five assists and four steals.
Wyoming Area's win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Lakeland, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Wyoming Area came up short against Lakeland when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 54-44. Can Wyoming Area avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
