Football Game Preview: Altus Bulldogs vs. Carl Albert Titans

The Altus Bulldogs will take on the Carl Albert Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Altus knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Carl Albert likes a good challenge.

Altus barely beat Lawton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Wolverines 51-8. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won six matchups by 27 points or more so far this season.

Altus found their leader in freshman Jeymon Reed, who threw for 289 yards and five TDs.

Meanwhile, Carl Albert faced Guthrie in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Titans managed a 47-42 victory over the Bluejays.

Carl Albert's win came from a few key players Altus will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Delijah Matthews, who rushed for 181 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 108 rushing yards. Anderson Collier was another key player, throwing for 233 yards and a pair of TDs on only 18 passes.

Altus' win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.0 points over those games. As for Carl Albert, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.
