Football Recap: South Takes a Loss + How To Watch

South fought the good fight in their overtime game against Chavez on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Titans by a score of 19-16. The Spartans gained 68 more yards on the day, but it was the Titans that made the best use of them.

The critical scores for Chavez came from Keven Lopez and Jacob Castellanos.

South dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Chavez, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

South and Chavez will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Spartans see the field they'll take on West at 7:30 p.m. on October 3. As for Chavez, their break will end when they face Wasco at 7:30 p.m. on October 3.
