Baseball Recap: Flanagan Has No Trouble Against Boca Raton

After losing to Boca Raton the last time they met, Flanagan decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Flanagan was the clear victor by a 9-3 margin over Boca Raton on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Falcons have won by exactly six runs.

Adrian Garcia looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had over his last five matchups.

On the hitting side, Joel Herrera was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Christian Duran-Robinson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

The win made it two in a row for Flanagan and bumps their season record up to 8-14. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Boca Raton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Flanagan will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Nova at 7:00 p.m. on April 8. As for Boca Raton, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Boca Raton Bobcats challenge Olympic Heights Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
