Basketball Recap: Neptune Takes a Loss

Neptune lost against St. Rose on January 7th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Neptune Scarlet Fliers took a hard 63-45 fall against the St. Rose Purple Roses. While losing is never fun, the Scarlet Fliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while the Purple Roses are ranked seventh).

Despite the loss, Neptune still got an impressive performance from Christa Ramos, who went 9 for 17 en route to 25 points. Ramos has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played.

Neptune now has a losing record at 6-7. As for St. Rose, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.

Neptune has already played their next match (against Rumson-Fair Haven), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. St. Rose will square off against Trinity Hall at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
