Basketball Game Preview: Chatsworth Chancellors vs. Westchester Comets

The Chatsworth Chancellors will take on the Westchester Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Chatsworth knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 32 games -- so hopefully Westchester likes a good challenge.

Chatsworth is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They blew past Francis Parker 80-59. The Chancellors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Westchester waltzed into their match on Thursday with 16 straight wins... but they left with 17. They came out on top against the Cavaliers by a score of 71-63. Given the Comets' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 94th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Westchester pushed their record up to 24-9 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points over those games. As for Chatsworth, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-8 record this season.

Chatsworth came up short against Westchester when the teams last played on Friday, falling 65-55. Can Chatsworth avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
