Basketball Recap: Overhills' Undefeated Season over After Six Games

With Overhills's effective field goal percentage at 77% and South Central's at 33% on Saturday, the final result was to be expected on Saturday. The Jaguars fell 58-47 to the Falcons. The contest marked the Jaguars' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the loss, Overhills still got an impressive performance from Najiha Allen, who shot 4-for-5 from deep and dropped a double-double with 18 points and 12 boards. Allen is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games she's played dating back to last season. Paris Autry was another key player, shooting 75% from the field en route to 16 points.

South Central found their leader in sophomore Jazmine Farrington, who went 10-for-16 on her way to 22 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Brook Evans, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds.

Having lost for the first time this season, Overhills fell to 5-1. As for South Central, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Overhills will take on Hoggard at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Central, they will face off against Southwest Onslow at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
