For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Hutchinson-Central Tech and Olmsted meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Engineers never let the Owls get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Engineers, who have now won five matchups by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Ricaldo Valdez was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Mike Guercio was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Hutchinson-Central Tech was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .370 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Hutchinson-Central Tech's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Olmsted, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, Hutchinson-Central Tech and Olmsted will both be playing McKinley the next time they take the field. The Owls will host the Macks at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Engineers will head out to face them at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
