While Keyser's victory against Petersburg wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Golden Tornado sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Vikings on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Golden Tornado in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won six in a row.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (110-103) Keyser actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 19-25, 25-23, 25-22, 17-15.

Keyser's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Petersburg, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Keyser will head out to square off against Berkeley Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Petersburg, they will venture away from home to challenge Paw Paw at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
