Basketball Recap: Mason Reed's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mead over East Butler

Mead was the 72-30 winner over East Butler when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mead Raiders fell 53-43 to the East Butler Tigers on Tuesday. The Raiders just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mason Reed, who posted seven points. Another player making a difference was Tytus R Lee, who put up 11 points and seven rebounds.

Mead's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6. As for East Butler, the win keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.

Mead will head out to square off against Lyons-Decatur Northeast at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mead is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.2 points per game this season. As for East Butler, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 67-38 victory against Meridian on the 23rd.
