Recap: Ramapo Raiders vs. Wayne Valley Indians
Winning is just a little bit easier when your three-point shooting is a whole 24% better than the opposition, a fact the Ramapo Raiders proved on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 64-47 victory over Wayne Valley. The win made it back-to-back wins for Ramapo.
Leading Ramapo to victory were Charlie Wingfield and Wyatt Eglinton manner. Wingfield scored 16 points along with five rebounds, while Eglinton manner scored 19 points along with six rebounds. Wingfield continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Ryan Goldman was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Wayne Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Anthony Apicella and Omar Ali. Apicella scored 22 points along with six rebounds, while Ali scored 14 points along with two steals.
Ramapo is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Wayne Valley, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ramapo will take on St. Rose at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Rose is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 13 games. As for Wayne Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dumont at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (Dumont is ranked 79th, while Wayne Valley is ranked 77th).
