Basketball Game Preview: Clay County Panthers vs. Braxton County Eagles

The Clay County Panthers will head out to square off against the Braxton County Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

While Panthers fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Wednesday's season opener. They walked away with a 73-62 win over Poca on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Braxton County earned a 67-57 victory over Roane County on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won three in a row.

Clay County might still be hurting after the 71-51 defeat they got from Braxton County when the teams last played back in February. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Eagles' Steve Boggs, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 16 rebounds.
