On Friday, West Forsyth faced Pope in a battle between two of the state's top teams. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Pope Greyhounds who were credited with the victory. The Pope Greyhounds got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to the West Forsyth Wolverines' one. The Wolverines' loss signaled the end of their undefeated season.

Having lost for the first time this season, West Forsyth fell to 8-1. As for Pope, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Coming up, West Forsyth will challenge North Gwinnett at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Gwinnett knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully West Forsyth likes a good challenge. As for Pope, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Collins Hill on the 15th.
