Softball Recap: Big Foot Takes a Loss

After flying high against Columbus last Saturday, Big Foot came back down to earth. The Chiefs fell just short of the Clinton Cougars by a score of 5-3 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Chiefs have suffered since May 22, 2024.

Big Foot saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kate Hummel, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

The defeat snapped Big Foot's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-4 record. As for Clinton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Big Foot will face off against rival Edgerton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Clinton is set to take on their familiar foe Brodhead at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 4, the Cardinals 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
