Basketball Game Preview: St. Henry Redskins vs. St. John's Bluejays

The St. Henry Redskins will head out to take on the St. John's Bluejays at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

On Tuesday, St. Henry didn't have quite enough to beat Bath and fell 60-57. That's two games in a row now that the Redskins have lost by exactly three points.

St. Henry might have lost, but man, Brayden Heath was a machine: he went 7 for 11 on his way to 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Zimmerman, who posted seven points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, St. John's put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 55-43 win over Marion Local. Given the Bluejays' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Flyers are ranked 62nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. John's pushed their record up to 13-0 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. As for St. Henry, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.

St. Henry was dealt a bruising 74-41 loss at the hands of St. John's when the teams last played back in February of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point St. Henry was down 40-13.
