Baseball Game Preview: King Brahmas vs. Calallen Wildcats

King is 0-8 against Calallen since March of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. King will host Calallen at 7:00 p.m.

King is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game on Friday. They lost 10-4 to Robstown.

King saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eric Cason, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Calallen put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Tuloso-Midway a 5-0 shutout.

Not much got past Drayton Mitchell, who gave up just seven hits to keep Tuloso-Midway off the board. What's more, Mitchell posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in June of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Wyatt Duke, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Drayson Gamez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

Calallen lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Calallen pushed their record up to 19-0 with the win, which was their 27th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for King, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-16-1.

King might still be hurting after the 18-0 loss they got from Calallen in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can King avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
