After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Monona Grove, Janesville Craig was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Janesville Parker Vikings 4-3. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Maddy Klemencic spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Janesville Craig's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Emily Kleinheinz, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Kleinheinz launched this season. Another was Brynn Sikich, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Janesville Craig's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Janesville Parker, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Coming up, Janesville Craig will welcome Middleton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. As for Janesville Parker, they will square off against Elkhorn at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Elks will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight.
