Basketball Recap: Quad Cities Christian Eagles vs. Faith Christian Falcons
After flying high against the Unity Christian Knights on Friday, the Quad Cities Christian Eagles came back down to earth. Quad Cities Christian fell 61-51 to the Falcons on Saturday. Quad Cities Christian found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post 15 fewer assists than your opponent.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Seth Karl, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Karl is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cobie Becker-Paradiso, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and five blocks.
Faith Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaiah Schuler led the charge by scoring 24 points. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Schuler has scored at least a third of Faith Christian's points. Tyler Kibble was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 assists.
Quad Cities Christian's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Faith Christian, their victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Quad Cities Christian will stay at home for another game and welcome the Huskies at 6:30 p.m. on January 29th. As for Faith Christian, they and the will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Pathway Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
