The Countryside Christian Minutemen will take on the Ocala Christian Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Countryside Christian's game on Friday was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They were dealt a 58-28 defeat at the hands of Meadowbrook Academy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Countryside Christian in their matchups with Meadowbrook Academy: they've now lost three in a row.
Ocala Christian suffered their biggest defeat since December 4, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Belleview 67-36. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Ocala Christian has suffered against Belleview since January 8, 2018.
Despite the loss, Ocala Christian saw an underclassman step up: Amari Gordon scored 11 points along with two blocks. Conrad Bloom was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Countryside Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Ocala Christian, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Countryside Christian against Ocala Christian in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 56-23 victory. With Countryside Christian ahead 37-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.
