Baseball Recap: Troy Triumphs

Troy proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 11) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Albany Falcons 1-0. This was payback for the Flying Horses, who suffered a 9-7 loss the last time these two teams met.

The result came thanks to Keegan Armstrong's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Troy's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is undefeated (and 5-8 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Jack Fraser was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Troy's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-8. As for Albany, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Troy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 5-1 victory against Lansingburgh on the 13th. As for Albany, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-4 win against Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake on the 13th.
